Ashleigh has joined Eastern Sports & Spinal Care in the role of Administrative Officer. She has previous experience in private health practice and is enthusiastic about her new role with an established team. To learn more about Ashleigh visit her staff page.

Eastern Sports & Spinal Care has identified two promising local athletes that compete at the top level of their chosen sport.

Since February 2009, we have begun working closely with each individual towards their respective goals. This work has included treatment, massage, Pilates and Vibrogym sessions that are tailored to suit the specific requirements of their chosen sports.

Career Highlights:
Amateur racing:

  • 2nd in the 200m at the 2009 Australian National Championships
  • 3rd in the 100m at the 2009 Australian National Championships
  • IAAF World Athletics Tour: Melbourne Grand Prix 100m and 200m (Alicia placed 4th and 5th overall respectively but was the 3rd Australian in each)
  • Sydney Grand Prix 100m and 200m (placed 6th in each overall but 3rd Australian in each)
  • Current South Australian Sate Champion for the 100m and 200m. Alicia is yet to be beaten in South Australia in either event this season.

Professional Racing:
First:

Personal Bests:

  • 100m 11.66 (+0.9) – Queensland 21/02/09 which currently has Alicia ranked 4th in the country.
  • 200m 23.62 (+0.6) – Sydney 28/02/09. This time has Alicia currently ranked 4th in the country and is also the 3rd fastest time ever run by a South Australian woman.
  • 60m 7.49 (+ 1.3) – Adelaide 17/01/09

National Events competed in 2009:

  • Athletics Australia Cup: 100m A race (2nd) and SA 4x100m team
  • South Australian State Championships: open 100m and 200m (1st in each)
  • Queensland State Championships: 100m open (2nd)
  • IAAF World Athletics Tour: Melbourne Grand Prix: 100m and 200m (4th and 5th overall, 3rd Australian in each)
  • Sydney Grand Prix: 100m and 200m (6th overall in each, 3rd Australian in each). Alicia was also part of the national 4x100m relay team.

Australian National Championships and selection trials: 100m (3rd) and 200m (2nd)

Current Goal:

  • To qualify for the Commonwealth Games 100m Relay by running a total time of 43.95 seconds. To qualify, Alicia's team need to maintain their current time.
  • Qualify for the individual Commonwealth Games 100m . To achieve this, she needs to cut .15-.2 of a second from her personal best. 11.5 qualifying time.

  • 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games – 5th 50m back, 6th 50 free (after having lung punctured by physio 7 weeks out, caught in team hotel lift 2 weeks out breaking arm, swam with severe damage to both knees)
  • 2007 Australian Short Course Championships Final-50m free 2007 Victorian Junior National Games Team – 6 Gold 2007 Can-Am Paralympic Championships, USA – 5 Gold, 1 Australian Record, most successful female on Australian team
  • 2006 IPC World Swimming Championships, South Africa – Silver 50m back and 50m fly, 5th 100m free, 6th 50m free, 5 Australian Records, most successful female on Australian team (dropped by carer less 6 weeks before championships as result had to swim with injury to right knee-torn cartilage and fractured patella)
  • 2005 Victorian Junior National Games Team – 6 Gold, 1 Silver, Qualified for first Australian Open Swimming Championships in 5 events
  • 2004 Victorian State Championships Australian Open Record and Final- 50m fly 50m back
  • 2003 Metro All Juniors – Gold 50m fly
